THOUGHTS FROM THE UNITY FESTIVAL

Matthew West, performing at the Unity Christian Music Festival

The 12th year of the Unity Christian Music Festival in Muskegon is over for another year. Hope you had a chance to be part of it in some way.
Here are some backstage tidbits I picked up during my coverage.
Matthew West faced quite a different audience Saturday at Unity than he did the night before in Dallas, Tex.  That’s where he performed before 2,000 moms at a Mothers Of Pre-Schoolers (MOPS) convention.
“It was intense,” he said backstage.
During his Unity concert set, he saluted Steven Curtis Chapman as an influence on his own career.
“I sat in the cheap seats at one of his concerts when I was in college,” West recalled.
“And when it was over I was in tears and I felt God calling me to some kind of music ministry.”
